AN AUTUMN AFTERNOON | O’FALLON FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER
The funny thing about being a mama of school aged kids in O’Fallon, IL is that so many wonderful families live right under my nose and I don’t even know it! THIS family is one of those families. I’d waved to this mama several times at school pickup, chatted bug spray with her, and we’d even discussed Christmas tree sessions once upon a time but we finally got to hang out in real life when we did their autumn family session last week.
Between you and me, I still get nervous when I photograph families for the first time! It’s true. Even after photographing families for over a decade, I still worry about sessions with new clients. I know it’s silly but make no mistake, this family had ME feeling like family from the minute they popped open their car doors. In fact, mom even gifted me a loaf of homemade sourdough bread and THAT was when I knew we were going to have an amazing session. Because homemade sourdough people are my people.
It’s hard to say whether we spent more time flowing through poses or more time chatting because it was THAT much fun. We had chatted prior to the session so I knew exactly what they were looking for so once we honed in on those and grabbed the candid cherries on top, we got to chatting and we’d probably STILL be out there chatting if not for, well, life! I’m already excited about the opportunity tom make more magic with them in the future but until then, I’m absolutely elated to share my favorites from their autumn family session!
If you’re inspired by this family session, let’s chat! I would love to serve you + your family while capturing your magic along the way.
