ONCE UPON A TIME | EDWARDSVILLE NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER

Once upon a time, a darling little boy + his family invited me into their beautiful home for a newborn session. When I arrived, the darling boy was snuggled up with his grandpa and it made my heart smile-in home sessions are like that. They have a way of adding both vulnerability and warmth from the get go. I know it can feel strange inviting me into your home right after you’ve delivered a baby, but I promise, we will feel like old friends by the time our session is through.

I haven’t had a family change outfits during a newborn session in quite some time but now that it’s front of mind again, I think I’m going to invite ALL of my families to do this! It’s just fun and fresh to switch things up and when you’re at home…why not?! It adds an extra layer to your session without much effort.

I also adore that we stepped outside. The mums were on display, there was a crispness in the air and since this family spends so much time in their backyard space, it felt totally full circle to end their session out there. Sessions like this remind me that home really is where the heart — and the best kind of magic — lives.
