Want to hear something you’ve likely heard a mil Want to hear something you’ve likely heard a million times?

Comparison is the thief of joy 🙃

I’ve spent lots of time making insta a place that I enjoy spending my time. I’ve unfollowed accounts that don’t spark joy, I scroll intentionally so that I can interact with accounts that DO spark joy and I’ve made a mega mental shift in the way that I define MY happiness and MY version of success.

For years I got stuck in the comparison game. Every photographer that I followed looked more successful than me, every mom seemed more present than I was, every house that I scrolled through felt bigger and better than my own.

But I’m happy to report that this weekend was the epitome of success to ME. I ate fish on Friday with our little fish fry crew, I accompanied all of my kiddos to their swim lessons, watched Harper play soccer, caught up with my brothers, sisters and crew while we watched the Jayhawks blow our NCAA brackets wide open…Chris and I caught up on a couple of episodes of The Wire and we all went to church this morning. I photographed a darling family + captured another family who just welcomed a baby girl.

Two sessions. That’s it. Some photographers wouldn’t consider that a success. Some moms will feel like I wasn’t present enough since I left my family in order to photograph two other families. And that’s okay. I’ve finally settled into what success feels like to ME and I’m here to cheer you on as you uncover what success feels like to YOU. Was your weekend a personal success?! Double tap if it was..and if you’re still searching for your definition of success…drop a 🤍 below! #kelsibaileyphotography #kelsibaileyfamily #kelsibaileynewborns #athomewithkelsibailey
Gosh dangit I am so obsessed with the birthday por Gosh dangit I am so obsessed with the birthday portrait sessions that I shoot for my Members. When I launched my Membership last summer I wasn’t sure exactly what these little sessions would look like or how they might fit into the Membership experience but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t obsessed with every single one of these.

The birthday portrait sessions are quick, simple sessions that are intended to celebrate your kiddo as the individual that they are. This also frees up time during family sessions (also included in the Membership) so that we can focus on family photos during family sessions and kiddos during birthday sessions.

The Membership is one of my favorite things that I added to my business last year and while the doors aren’t open to enroll right now, I wanted to chat and share a bit about it anyway because maybe these sweet birthday sessions will spark as much joy for you as they do for me. Double tap if they do 🤍 #kelsibaileyphotography #kelsibaileymembership
Attention all married guys + gals! I need your hel Attention all married guys + gals! I need your help! These two are above + beyond my wildest wedding dreams and in honor of their wedding day being one month from today, I’m sharing some of my favorite engagement photos as well as re-sharing their session on the blog! As they prepare for their big day, can you share any tips and tricks with them? Was there anything that you stressed about before your wedding day that, in the end, didn’t matter as much as you thought it would? I know I stressed a TON about our journey from the ceremony to our reception because we got married in my small town + had our reception in the city. I don’t want these two to stress about a thing so please stop your tips and tricks below to help them out 🤍 #kelsibaileyphotography #kelsibaileyengagements #lafayettesquare #lafayettesquarestl #stlweddings
Your baby’s first year is a trip, isn’t it? It Your baby’s first year is a trip, isn’t it? It’s likely the least amount of sleep you’ve ever encountered, but a new level of love you never even knew existed.

You learn more about yourself + your partner than you ever thought possible + juuuuuust when you think you’ve found *THE* perfect routine, something comes along and kerfuffles the whole thing.

And then you blink and you’re planning a first birthday party. You find yourself scrolling through your camera roll and saying ‘oh, babe, remember WHEN (insert all of the moments you swore you’d never forget) and you’ll wonder how in the world 365 days passed so quickly.

Being invited into your baby’s first 365 days is a joy that I can’t even put into words. I know that the nights are sometimes as long as the to do list and that photo sessions might seem (in the moment) like ONE MORE THING to add to your to do list…so when you invite me to celebrate in your most precious year, I am honored. And for what it’s worth, I don’t view your sessions like one more thing on my to do list. I’m simply happy to be along for the ride, coffee in hand for you, for me, for grandma, whoever…to help capture the magic + allow you to relive it forever and ever. Do you have a favorite memory from your baby’s first year? I’d love to hear about it…will you share it below? 🤍 #kelsibaileyphotography #kelsibaileynewborns #athomewithkelsibailey
Dear Mama, I want to celebrate YOU! I want to ce Dear Mama,

I want to celebrate YOU! I want to celebrate your late nights + early mornings. Your day 4 hair + the yoga pants you’ve worn two days in a row. I want to celebrate the way that only you can hug your bebes + the special way that your bebes look at you.

I want to celebrate the chaos. I want to PLAY. I want you to sit with your bebes and soak them all in while I capture the journey of motherhood that only YOU can portray. And I want to send you home with a swag bag + my favorite nespresso latte (or wine. or champagne. whatever you fancy is fine with me…it’s your celebration after all) and then I want to send you a beautiful gallery made beautiful by YOU and YOUR motherhood journey.

I also want to introduce you @enlightenedservicesllc space where Becca practices pelvic floor therapy and serves women through every season of motherhood. Because motherhood is a much better journey when we’re traveling together, isn’t it?!

This is the vision and I can hardly wait to throw the digital doors open wide for you to book your motherhood mini tomorrow! Want first dibs? Jump on my email list to be the first to know (link in profile) 🤍 I can’t wait to celebrate YOU #kelsibaileyphotography #kelsibaileymotherhood
A quick Friday Five because it’s been *a week* + A quick Friday Five because it’s been *a week* + I’m thrilled to see that friYAY finally arrived!

•I’m sepia obsessed. I’m either really late to the sepia party or I’m starting the next one because I looooooooove the pinky tones that sepia has to offer

•I’ve been known to laugh out loud + cry real tears from time to time when I’m reading. When they finally fall in love? Tears. When someone dies? Tears. When something clumsy happens? Laughs. My family thinks I’m crazy but I hardly notice because I’m too busy laughing or crying

•Afternoon coffee. Always. Don’t even try to change my mind. (Yes. Also morning coffee. But by the time the afternoon rolls around…it’s time for round 2)

•I’m not great at math (read:terrible math skills) but I do believe I’m thriving on dry shampoo about 90% of the time.

•Least favorite household chore: grocery shopping. I don’t mind literally ANYTHING else but if I outsourced one chore I would absolutely hire a grocery shopper. Yes, I know I can have groceries delivered but I may or may not trust them to grab the best looking apples, you know? So it’s my least favorite chore and I complain about it every time but I’m also picky about my apples 🤷🏼‍♀️

Tell me about YOU-do you cry when you read, sip afternoon coffee (or hate afternoon coffee?), outsource grocery shopping or have a love for sepia?! I would love to know! Let’s chat in the comments and celebrate being SOCIAL on this social media 👇🏻 #kelsibaileyphotography
