SHE SMASHES A CAKE | O’FALLON FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER

Mom sent me photos of her tutu dress and cake smash vision before the session and I was all too happy to help her bring them to life. We’ve spent the last year celebrating their baby girl together, after all, so grabbing coffees before her cake smash session on a rainy Tuesday morning felt like just another day to catch up with friends. When they arrived, mom had two balloons in tow-turns out she only ordered one-but did we use both balloons during the session? Absolutely, we did! Their little gal was totally mesmorized by the balloons and honestly, I think she preferred the balloons to her cake.

We waited patiently for her to sink her teeth into the cake (literally-there was a time or two when we thought that she was just going to lean forward and take a bite) but the frosting kept getting in the way! She went back and forth between loving the icing and shuddering while licking her fingers so we’ll have to stay tuned as she gets older to decide how she really feels. What I can say for sure is that the girl knows exactly what she wants which, in today’s case, was playing with her balloons, using the icing as a crayon, and loving on her mom and dad. Wishing this gal the happiest first birthday and sending lots of hugs to mom and dad because let’s be honest, that 12 month milestone just hits a little different.
